Exchanged Christmas presents with friends last night. I got:

apowerfulbeat:

a Pittsburgh Penguins tote-bag
Michael Symon’s new cookbook (he is ridiculously sexy, even though I will never use his meat-filled recipes)
The Office season five
the criterion collection version of The Royal Tenenbaums (it’s glorious)
Little Joy on vinyl
a William Shakespeare finger puppet magnet
The Man Who Ate Everything by Jeffrey Steingarten
a sock monkey (what is this I don’t even…)

Also, I have one gift coming, and that is The Mysterious Production of Eggs on vinyl from Kristin. Although Noble Beast is my favorite (this week at least), she wanted to get me that one since it was the first album of his I shared with her (although I sent her “Anonanimal” first) and it inspired her “new favorite read” (that requires an explanation, I suppose). It’s currently in transit, so when it comes, Kristin and I are having an Andrew Bird listening party. Since you know, I got Noble Beast and Armchair Apocrypha in the mail yesterday. Oh man, vinyl changes the way everything sounds.

I feel like we could be great friends based on most of these things. Except, of course, the Pitt Penguins bag. You need to get one with a wheel and a wing!
